Elements behaving badly in Coxeter groups.
Friday 28th, February 12:05-12:55pm,
Stephen Roberts.
I will look at the effect of conjugating an element of a Coxeter Group
W by a reflection. Can we guarantee that if w\in W
does not have minimal (respectively maximal) length in its conjugacy
class, then there exists a reflection s such that
l(sws)< l(w) (respectively l(sws)>l(w))? I
will concentrate on finite Coxeter groups, but I will discuss the
infinite case if time permits.
