We shall survey the braid group action, different from Lusztig's, describe the nonsimple root currents, matrix coefficients, Serre relations and the integral formula for the universal R-matrix. The properies of the universal R-matrix in the Drinfeld comultiplication admit completely geometric reformulation. This helps to find a presentation of the universal R-matrix in the form of a series of contour integrals and then investigate and apply this presentation.
